What we collect — free tier

Nothing. The free version of Tab Piles stores all data — pile names, tab URLs, tab titles, favicons, tags, and notes — exclusively in your browser's local IndexedDB. The extension does not contact any server. We do not run analytics, telemetry, or ad networks inside the extension.

What we collect — Pro tier

If you enable cloud sync on a paid Pro tier, Tab Piles sends your pile data (names, tab URLs, titles, tags, notes, snapshots if you've enabled that feature) to a Cloudflare Workers endpoint we operate, for the sole purpose of syncing between your own devices. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We do not access, read, mine, or sell this data. We do not share it with any third party. If you cancel your Pro subscription or delete your account, your cloud-synced data is purged within 30 days.

License validation

To verify a Pro license key, Tab Piles sends the license key and a randomly-generated per-device instance ID to our Cloudflare Workers endpoint, which checks the key against the Lemon Squeezy license API. We cache the validation result locally in your browser for 24 hours. We log validation requests for fraud prevention (specifically: detecting license-key sharing across more than 5 devices). These logs are stored for 90 days and contain only the license key and instance ID — no personal data.

Payments

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy collects payment information (name, billing address, card details) per their own privacy policy. We receive only your email address and the fact that you have a valid license. We do not see or store your payment details.

Landing page analytics

This website (tabpiles.pages.dev) does not use analytics or cookies of any kind at launch. If we ever add basic page-view counting, it will be a privacy-respecting service like Plausible (no cookies, no cross-site tracking) and we will update this notice first.
